Hello, I'm Micah, the entrepreneurial spirit and creative powerhouse behind Wear It Free, a clothing brand that's more than just a label—it's a movement. My life's journey is a tapestry woven with vibrant threads of art, fashion, beauty, and an unyielding commitment to uplifting others. Yet, it's a path marked by trials and triumphs, a story of resilience that I proudly share.
From the day I stepped out of high school, I embraced a sense of duty that led me to serve in the U.S. Army as a combat medic. This period, steeped in pride and purpose, also exposed me to the harrowing realities of warfare, igniting a personal conflict within that I'd carry beyond the battlefield. The injuries of war left many scars, both seen and unseen. That compounded by personal traumas from childhood, plunged me into a vortex of substance abuse, depression, several overdoses, a failed suicide attempt and a mountain of legal battles that saw me incarcerated multiple times. My life, it seemed, was a mosaic of setbacks, a narrative I desperately sought to rewrite.
The turning point came through unwavering support from friends, family, and the invaluable assistance of the VA. This journey of healing was a climb from the depths of despair, confronting societal stigmas and the harsh reality of being a convicted felon. Yet, it was in these moments of adversity that I discovered true freedom—freedom from addiction, judgment, and the constraints of my past. It was time to step out of the darkness and into the light.
